Since, rainy season is going on and this is the most suitable time for plantation of fruit crops, he asked farmers to come forward, associate with the department, keep a close liaison with the field functionaries and take maximum benefit of the departmental schemes. He urged farmers to adopt integrated farming in their fields and avail the benefits on different components viz: Bore Well, water harvesting tanks, Drip irrigation, Mechanization, protected cultivation, tools & implements etc. for upliftment of their socio- economic status.
Further, he impressed upon farmers to establish Custom Hiring Centres / Farm Machinery Banks wherein the department is providing 40% to 80% subsidy which will ultimately generate employment opportunities for the youth.
S. Parminder Singh, HDO briefed the farmers about the technical aspects of fruit plantation and importance of Horticulture sector in employment generation.
Sansar Chand, HDO carried out the proceedings of all the programmes and briefed the farmers about the incentive available under centrally and UT sponsored schemes of the department.
