Grievance redressal camp to inspect Muharram Arrangements held at Nowgam Sumbal

B’pora : In order to listen to the grievances of public and take appraisal of local issues at their door steps, the Chairman District Development Council (DDC) Bandipora, Ab Gani Bhat along with Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, Afsar Ali Khan on Monday visited DDC Constituency Nowgam and presided over a Public Grievance Redressal Camp.
The programme witnessed large participation of people from Nowgam, Zalpora, Gadakhud, Tularzoo, Najan, Tabaelbal and other adjoining areas of the Block Nowgam.
Besides, Vice Chairperson DDC, DDC Members, BDCs, Local Representatives of Trade Union Nowgam, NGOs, the Public Grievance Redressal Camp was attended by ACP Bandipora Altaf Hussain Mosvi , SDM Sumbal Dr. Bashir Lone, Tehsildar Sumbal ZeeshanTahir, BDO Nowgam Ameer Chowdhury and other senior Officers of the District.
During the Grievance Redressal Camp, Public delegations and scores of individuals projected various developmental issues before the ADDC including J&K Bank facilities and ATM at Nowgam, augmentation of water supply, eviction drive of encroached banks of irrigation canals, renovation of Community Hall, infrastructure upgradation of Health centre, Macadamization of Sumbal to Singhpora via Nowgam road, Fencing of Higher Secondary school, augmentation of drainage system in the area, repairs of lanes, drains and street lights, Desiliting of drinking Water Tanks and Nallah from Narbal to Najan canal, earthfilling of Middle School Lawn, Renovation of Panchayat Ghar Najan, macadamization of inner links roads and other developmental and jurisdictional issues in the area.
After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the public, the ADDC sought on the spot response from the concerned District and Sectoral Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp.
Addressing the gathering, the Chairman DDC said the purpose of holding such grievance redressal Camps is to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment for time bound redressal and also entrusted to provide all essential facilities required during the month of Muharram.
Responding to the public demands, the ADDC directed all Officers to note down all the issues and assured to provide all the facilities during holy Month of Muharram
