PM interacts with beneficiaries, lays stress on 100%household electrification

Anantnag : As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence, the District Administration Anantnag along with Ministry of Power in association with NHPC, KPDCL on Saturday organized concluding celebration of ‘Bijli Mahotsav’ at Govt. Degree College (Women), here.
The concluding ceremony of Bijli Mahotsav was used as a platform to celebrate the collaboration between the Central and the State Governments and highlight the key achievements of the power sector.
Some of the key highlights, as mentioned by PM in his address include 169 GW of generation capacity added, transforming our country from power deficit to power surplus, 1.6 lakh ckm of transmission lines added, connecting the entire country into one grid emerging as the largest integrated grid in the world.
The PM also mentioned the achievement of 100 percent village electrification (18,374) and 100 percent household electrification (2.86 Cr) besides Rs. 2.02 Lakh Cr outlay for system strengthening which has increased power supply in rural areas increased from 12 hours in 2015 to average 22.5 hours at present. Also, Fastest-growing RE capacity – doubled from ~76 GW in 2014 to ~160 GW now.
PM also interacted with the beneficiaries of the schemes of Power Sector during live online sessions wherein many beneficiaries shared their experiences with the PM on the benefits of power sector schemes.

While giving the concluding remarks on the occasion, Chief Engineer, Kashmir, said that under centrally sponsored schemes KPDCL Anantnag, has achieved 100 percent electrification in the District in 2018 by installing number of new receiving stations, laying of HT Lines, installing of new transformers under DDUGJY, Saubhagya, IDPS, etc.
DDC Chairperson Anantnag, Mohd Yousuf Gorsi; DDC Chairperson, Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq; MC President, Hilal Ahmad Shah; Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Dr.Piyush Singla; CMD NHPC, Abhay Kumar Singh; MD, KPDCL, Dr.Basharat Qayoom; SSP, Anantnag, Ashish Mishra; CE, Kashmir, Javid Yousuf besides, ADDC, Principal, GDC, SE, Ex. Er’s, AEE, officers and officials of various departments and NHPC and a large number of students were present and witnessed the PMs Interaction with beneficiaries along with launching ceremony of ‘Revamp Distribution Scheme’ and ‘ Rooftop Solar Scheme’ of the Ministry of Power. Various public representatives including DDC and BDC members of the district were also present.
On the occasion, the dignitaries highlighted the benefits of electricity and the unprecedented growth achieved by the power sector over the past few years. Screening of short films on the power sector was also held.
Regional Dir. S&LR Ang. reviews progress of digitization of Jamabandies

Ang : The Regional Director, Survey and Land Records (S&LR) Anantnag, Dr. Abdul Hafiz Shah on Satruday chaired a meeting of Tehsildars of district Anantnag, Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian through virtual mode to review the progress achieved in respect of digitization of Jamabandies under 2nd phase of Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP).
During the meeting, the Regional Director took a detailed review of the work done by the Tehsildars.
The chair was apprised that in District Anantnag, out of 394 villages, Jamabandies of 69 villages have been digitized, in Pulwama out of 327 villages, 67 Jamabandies have been digitized, in Kulgam district out of 273 villages, Jamabandies of 117 have been digitized and similarly in Shopian District out of 240 villages, the Jamabandies of 118 villages have been digitized as on date.
The work done by the Tehsildars and subordinate field agencies viz. Patwaris, Girdawar Qanoongos and Naib-Tehsildars of District Kulgam and Shopian have been praise worthy and were appreciated by the Regional Director.
Tehsildars of District Anantnag and Pulwama were directed to gear up the sub-ordinate field staff for accelerating/ expediting the progress of digitization work and complete the same within the fixed timeline.
