Horticulture Deptt. (J) organizes awareness-cum -interaction prog at R.S. Pura

Jammu : To create awareness amongst the Farming Community in R.S.Pura and Binah blocks about Plantation Schemes of the Department, the Department of Horticulture Jammu on Saturday organized an Awareness cum Interaction Program at Thlar Panchayat.
District Level-Subject Matter Specialist (Pomology) Sandeep Gupta, Horticulture Development Officer R.S.Pura Dheeraj Sharma besides Sarpanch, other PRI members and Farmers in large numbers participated in the program.
Sandeep Gupta, while interacting with the participants, educated them about various schemes/programs of the Department with special thrust on Plantation Schemes.
Since Rainy season is suited best for Fruit Tree Plantation which is highly remunerative, he impressed upon them to come forward and keep close liaison with the field functionaries to take maximum benefit of the Plantation Schemes of the Department.
Dheeraj Sharma compared the proceedings of the program and briefed the farmers about incentives available under CSS and UT Schemes and advised them to adopt ca crops like Strawberry which is best suited to the area.
Later, the team held an Interaction Session with DDC Member Binah Dharminder kumar, BDC Chairman Binah Surjit Kumar and other PRI Members at Binah wherein they were briefed about Plantation Schemes of the Department as they can play a vital role in dissemination of the Schemes to the grass root level so that a common farmer is benefitted.
