Holding assembly polls in JK need of the hour, “neglected” unemployed deserve “healing touch” : Hakeem

Khansahib (B’gam): Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Front (J&KPDF) and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen on Saturday has urged for conducting assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir as early as possible to restore democracy’at gross roots level .
Addressing a party workers convention in Khansahib Budgam, he said holding elections is the need of the hour, in order to bridge the gap between people and the administration.
The convention was organised to take stock of the prevailing socio political and developmental scenario in Jammu and Kashmir .
“ Restoration of democracy was need of the hour to remove alienation among the people ,” Hakeem Yaseen said adding that the Centre should take concrete steps to revive political and socio-economical activities in Jammu and Kashmir .steps,
Hakeem said that people of Jammu and Kashmir are yearning for revival of state assembly to get redressal of thier grievances.
“Both politically and economically, there is deep alienation among the people which can be removed by holding free and fair elections .
PDF Chairman said that there was leadership crisis which it needs to be addressed immediately,
He stated that political uncertainty must end in the region. People need their own representation to meet so their urges and aspirations .
“There is alienation visible on the ground, people are fed up with the hollow promises about development, ” senior PDF leader added.
Hakeem termed it as unfortunate that people of Valley are being divided on emotional and regional which was not in the larger interests of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said as responsible politicians and representatives of people, we should refrain from making such statements fwhich could cause hatred and enmity among the communities.
The PDF Chairman said unemployment was the the biggest issue J&K is facing adding that government should announce a comprehensive employment policy to provide jobs to the youth. He has appealed to PM Narendra Modi to announce a special employment package for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir .He said youth of region need a healing touch and it is the foremost responsibility of the government that they should accommodate them in central departments.
Hakeem also expressed deep concern over the plight of protesting Finance Accounts Assistant (FAA) aspirants.
“It is unfortunate that those aspirants, who have qualified the FAA exam, are protesting. Instead of punishing students, government should imitative strict action against corrupted officials who are involved in the alleged scam,” he said.
Hakeem said the officers who were indulged in exam.scams should be exposed and penalized by the investigating agencies. They are playing with talent of our youth and such things will not be tolerated anymore,” he said.
The senior leader also urged for regularization of all daily wagers, casual labors working in different government departments adding that it would be a humanitarian gesture , if government regularises services of daily wagers..
On this occasion Hakeem urged the LG Manoj Sinha to start work on Power Grid station at Khansahib and consideration of mini power houses on Nallas Sukhnag and Shaliganga adding that all these developmental projects have been approved during the previous civilian governments .
