‘Digital J&K Week 22’ Celebrated at GDC Beerwah’

BUDGAM: The Department of Computer Sciences, Government Degree College (GDC) Beerwah in collaboration with NSS Unit of the college celebrated the ‘Digital J&K Week 2022’ from 25th of July, to 30th July,, 2022.
The main aim of this weeklong IEC (Information, Education and Communication) campaign was to spread awareness among students and faculty members regarding digital initiatives taken up by Government of J&K (UT) showcasing e-Governance and digital solutions, Citizen Engagement through J&K MyGov platform and citizen grievance and feedback mechanism.
On the first day of the programme, a quiz competition hosted through Quizizz platform was organized on the theme “Digital India Flagship Programme and Digital Initiatives by Government of J&K (UT)” in which 27 students actively participated.
In the competition Suhail Nabi bagged 1st position, Rizwan bin Rahim and Peerzada Abdul Majid bagged 2nd Position and Iqrar Rashid bagged 3rd position.
On the next day a Painting Competition was organized on the same theme in which 22 students participated actively. The participants presented various Digital Initiatives of J&K Government through their art.
On the third day, a Logo Designing Competition was organized in the Computer Science Department in which 26 students participated actively.
On 30th July, 2022-the final day of this week-long programme, a detailed lecture was organized in the Smart classroom of the college on the theme “Digital IndiaInitiatives and Progress of J&K Government.” Students and faculty members of the college attended the Programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Muhammad Iqbal Bhat, Head Department of Computer Science presented the Digital India Flagship programme, its objectives, pillars, and achievements till date. He also presented various digital initiatives taken by the Government of J&K (UT) to empower its citizens digitally and technologically.
This was followed by a valedictory function in which chief guest on the occasion Prof. Zahoor Ahmad Shah and other faculty members distributed prizes and certificates among the participants.
The event successfully concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Firdous Ahmad Dar, NSS Programme Officer.
