Rajouri : Nowshera Forest Division on Thursday conducted a series of plantation drives to mark the launching of ‘‘Green Jammu & Kashmir Drive 2022-23.” The plantation was conducted under different campaigns like one beat guard one village programme, Har goan Hariyali etc.
Total 12 sites were selected in Sunderbani, Lamberi and Nowshera Range to celebrate the launch of Green Jammu & Kashmir Drive 2022-23.
PRI members, Local villagers, Students, teachers, Self help groups actively participated in the plantation programme.
Around 6000 plants were planted/ distributed to celebrate the event across the 12 sites.
The Forest Department has organized the live streaming/coverage of planting being carried out under Green Jammu & Kashmir Drive 2022-23”.
While speaking Mrs. Neelima Shah, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera said that the aim of one beat guard one village programme is to reach all the Panchayats and provide them fodder, fruit and other plants for making the Panchayat clean and green. She also said that seed balls of grass and other fodder species also being distributed among the participants; seed ball is a low cost greening initiative of forest department. She also highlighted the importance of Green Jammu & Kashmir Drive, and urged the participants to come forward to join hands with forest department so that more and more plantation could be done under various programmes.
Range Officer Nowshera Anil Kumar Bhagat, Range Officer Sunderbani Rakesh Verma and Range Officer Lamberi Sudesh Kumar, has put their best efforts in organizing the event successfully.
