Jammu : The Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh on Thursday afternoon flagged off, 120 retrofitted motorcycles to be deployed with police stations and traffic police, at Gulshan ground Jammu. He also interacted with the teams of BDS, ATS and Dog squad.
According to statement issued from the Police Headquarters DGP while talking to reporters said that these bikes are being provided to the police stations and traffic police. He said that it is an effort to empower our Jawans with additional mobility to ensure quick and better response to any criminal activity. He exuded confidence that a Jawan’s riding this bike will be connected with its concerned unit or control room. Besides they will be able to record/ transmit any event, he added. He said that deployment of this bike would further strengthen the patrolling in border and city grids. “Every day comes with a different challenge and JKP alongwith other security force are ever ready to face every challenge with fortitude”, the DGP added. He said that in recent past a number of terror/narco modules aimed to create disturbance particularly in Jammu region were successfully busted. He complimented the Jawans/officers of Police and CAPFs for tireless efforts in providing security to the people Before the flag off function, the DGP interacted with the special team of BDS/ATS and Dog Squads at DPL Jammu.
According to the above referred police statement the flag off ceremony was attended by ADGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh, IGP Traffic, J&K, Vikramjit Singh, DIG JSK Range, Vivek Gupta, DPT, J&K, Shridhar Patil, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli, SSP Traffic Koushal Sharma, AIG (P/T) PHQ, Gurinderpal Singh and other senior officers of Jammu District.
