Udhampur : To mark the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, Labour Department, Udhampur Thursday disbursed education assistance in favour of the children of registered construction workers under the Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (BOCWWB) schemes.
District Development Commissioner, Krittika Jyotsna lauded the efforts of the Labour Department in providing financial assistance to the labourers under the government schemes. The DDC stressed on organizing more such awareness camps to widen the area of coverage.
Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner, informed that the assistance was released at the time when the whole Country is celebrating 75th year of Independence under the Campaign: “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav”.
The financial assistance has been disbursed among construction workers through DBT mode.
“An amount of Rs.52.80 Lakh was disbursed on the occasion among 663 beneficiaries under Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board schemes. A total of 663 Labourers covered while 954 students benefitted,” he added.
