Ang : As part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations, the District Administration Anantnag in collaboration with NHPC Wednesday celebrated Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya, Power@2047 at Govt. Degree College (Women), Anantnag, here.
The District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson, Mohd Yousuf Gorsi presided over the function whereas Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Dar; General Manager NHPC, M.Kannan; Principal GDC (W), Irfan Ul Majid also attended as Guest of Honours.
PRI members including DDC, BDC members along with Executive Engineer, PDD Anantnag, Bashir Ahmad Shah; DIO Anantnag, Showkat Hussain Ganie; Nodal Officer NHPC, Moloy Roy and other officers and officials from District Administration and College faculty also attended. Large number of students and locals were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the participants, the DDC Chairperson threw light on Ujjawal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya celebrations and highlighted the key achievements of the district under the power sector.
He also congratulated and appreciated the tireless efforts made by PDD for giving their best efforts in order to provide electricity to the far flung areas of the district and augmenting the power infrastructure through various power sector schemes.
Other speakers including Nodal Officer NHPC also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the achievements of NHPC in bettering the power scenario.
Various performances by Cultural clubs and students of different schools highlighted the necessity of using the electricity judiciously.
The department had also installed stalls to showcase activities and achievements in the power sector.
