During the three day camp, a total of 64 Specially Abled are being fitted with artificial limbs and assistive devices such as Wheelchairs (20) and Hearing Aids (20) being distributed to the differently abled, so that they can overcome their body limitations and become self dependent.
The camp has been organised in two phases. The first phase was conducted for duration of three days from 21-23 May 2022, wherein, Prosthetics and Orthotics doctors along with technicians from NSS had examined and taken measurements for manufacturing of artificial limbs for the differently abled of the area.
Phase II of the camp i.e Artificial Limb Fitment Camp is being organised on 24- 26 Jul 22, wherein, the same team of doctors and technicians is fitting these prepared artificial limbs to the differently abled people, who have disembodied limbs.
Established in 1985, Narayan Seva Sansthan has worked extensively for more than three decades to reach out and rehabilitate differently abled people from the underprivileged segment.
It works with 480 branches in India and 49 branches abroad while focusing on alleviating people with disabilities and providing proper Physical, Social, and Economic Rehabilitation to the needy.
Organizing such camps will go a long way in projecting the positive image of the Indian Army in masses as an organisation committed to work for the weaker sections of the society.
