B’gam : Police on Wednesday said that it has busted gang of interstate carjackers by arresting four accused involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued on Wednesday police said that Police Station Khansahib Budgam after receiving inputs busted a gang of inter-state carjackers/thieves and arrested four persons involved in the sale and purchase of stolen vehicles, Stating therein further that the modus operandi of the arrested gang has been to smuggle the stolen vehicles from other states with fake and forged documents and selling the same to the locals at quite cheaper rates.
Stating thata case vide FIR No. 112/2022 under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Khansahib and investigation initiated, Police in it’s above referred statement further said that during the course of investigation, Police raided several locations and recovered 11 stolen vehicles having forged registration numbers and documents, Stating therein further more that vehicles included three Maruti Swift cars, two Alto K-10, two Alto 800, One Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Verna and Hyundai Santro each.
“The arrested persons have been identified as Arshid Ahmad Ganie resident of Katich Razger, Muneer Ahmad Ganie resident of Khansahib, Mohd Shafi Dar resident of Razwan and Tanveer Ahmad Parray resident of Hawoora” , reads the concluding para of the statement, adding that “ Investigation into the case is going on and further arrests are expected in the said case”.
