Block Diwas: Public Darbar held at Tangnar Khansahab

ADDC stresses on road development, connectivity & availability of basic amenities

B’gam : As part of weekly Block Diwas, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Budgam, Dr Akramullah Tak Wednesday chaired a public darbar at village Tangnar, Doodpathri in block Khansahab of the district.
Vice Chairman, DDC Budgam, Nazir Ahmad Jahra was also present on the occasion.
At the outset DDC Member, Khansahab, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, PRIs, village elders, representatives from pony wallas and others respected from Tangnar, Raiyaar, Rinzabal, Mujpathri, Check Shera, Hapathnar Trajkhal, Kralpathri and other adjoining villages of Block Khansahab raised their issues and demands with the ADDC and demanded timely resolution.
The issues and demands raised by the locals included improvement in power sector, cellular connectivity, police post, hospital facility, development of roads including link and interior roads, irrigation facility, improvement in health and education sectors.
They also demanded facilities of Horticulture and Agriculture centres, timber depot, upgradation of schools and improvement in HT, LT lines.
On the occasion, ADDC said that a spot has been identified for establishment of cellular towers to improve mobile network in the area.
He said that besides Doodhpathri focus is being given for the development of Sochalptahri, Arizal, Mujpathri, Rinzabal and other areas as tourist places.
SDM Khansahab Syed Mohammad who was also present on the occasion highlighted the under progress projects and in the pipeline for robust development of the area.
The ADDC called for the holistic development of the area and emphasized that work on all ongoing projects be expedited to ensure timely completion.
He stressed on development of road connectivity and all hassle- free irrigation and potable water supply be ensured to locals.
The ADDC also instructed concerned to conduct a joint awareness camp to apprise locals about various government schemes and initiatives in the area.
Later, ADDC also stressed on restoration of the irrigation canal and directed concerned to ensure adequate water supply to the farmers.
He also emphasized on cleanliness and maintenance of proper sanitation in the area.
The ADDC informed that various JJM works have been approved to ensure improvement in the tap water supply to all the habitations in the area and added that under JJM, projects worth Rs. 1240 crore shall be executed to provide tap water supply across the district.
He instructed Panchayat members to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of proper sanitation in all panchayat halqas of the block and urged PRIs to ensure that people ensure a ban on use of one-time plastic items and dumping of garbage roadside and in open areas.
He said that instead they use separate dustbins for proper disposal of garbage generated daily by the households.
On the occasion, land passbooks were distributed among various beneficiaries of Khansahab area.
Among others, SDM Khansahab, Tehsildar, BMO, BDO, Executive Engineers from various Engineering Wings, district heads of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and other concerned officers and officials were also present on the occasion.
