Drug peddler arrested in Awantipora, contraband substance recovered: Police

Awantipora : The police on Tuesday said that it has arrested a drug peddler and also recovered contraband substance from his possession in Awantipora.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday police said that a Police party of Police Station Khrew during naka checking near Hanfia Public School Wuyan intercepted one person identified as Sameer Ahmad Bhat son of Ali Mohd Bhat resident of Wuyan Pampore and upon checking recovered 300gms of Charas like substance (wrapped in Maize Husk) from his possession following which he was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating further that a case vide FIR No. 51/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khrew and investigation has been initiated, Police in it’s above quoted statement said that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken as part of the efforts made to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
