B’gam : The District Administration Budgam Monday organised a 3 day Digi-Mela at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall Budgam, where as many as 23 different departments set up their stalls to generate awareness about over 200 online services launched by the Government.
The Digi- Mela is being organised in wake of the “Digital J&K Week” celebrations being observed from July 25 to July 31 across the district.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza flagged-off a mobile van from the DC Office for dissemination of awareness about online services across the district.
The Digi- Mela at Sheikh-ul-Alam Hall was attended by Deputy Commissioner Budgam, ADC Budgam and other senior officers of the district.
The event witnessed a huge gathering of students and locals who were sensitized about the digital services.
The DC said that the week is celebrated for the benefit of the public and to increase transparency in service delivery to the people. He said the J&K government has launched more than 200 digital services across all of its departments. Up to 202 online services have been connected to Rapid Assessment Services (RAS), which allows beneficiaries to evaluate the services provided by the departments.
During the weeklong programme “Digital J&K week” and the “Digi Mela” citizens can avail online services of the departments and also receive awareness about the online services through these stalls.
The District Administration Budgam appealed to the citizens of Budgam to join these celebrations for availing online services and receive awareness about the services.
The programme was also held at SDM offices, Tehsil Headquarters, CSCs, Municipalities and schools where online services offered by various departments were highlighted and awareness to the general public was given.
