Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday arrested four accused who allegedly beat a Journalist on Saturday evening at Bemina area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.
Shabraz Bashir, who is working with a Jammu based newspaper “News Now”, had alleged that he was beaten by four persons who alighted from a Swift car near Bemina Chowk and even threatened to kill him.
The Journalist Bashir had lodged a complaint against the unknown persons at Bemina police station who had assured him of all possible help after going through CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
“Four accused arrested for beating a journalist Saturday evening. Prima facie the case seems to be that of road-rage. Case was registered at Bemina PS under relevant sections and investigation was taken up Saturday itself”, police said in a tweet.
