MD reviews progress of projects being constructed by JKPCC in Doda & Kishtwar Distts

Jammu : Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC), R.K. Shavan reviewed the pace of progress on upcoming projects in the Districts of Doda and Kishtwar during the 5 day field visit to the region.
During tour, he interacted with the Engineering staff and reviewed the progress of development works of different departments being executed by JKPCC,
The Corporation is constructing the campus building of Government Degree College Kashtigarh, at an estimated cost of Rs.9.24 crore where the foundation work is in progress. On the spot instructions were issued to Contractor and Engineering Staff to expedite the progress and complete the project within committed timelines.
He also inspected the Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall Doda, being constructed by JKPCC at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.82 crore. The MD expressed dissatisfaction over the progress of work and directed the DGM concerned to take action against the contractor as per terms & conditions of SBD.
At Court Complex Doda, being constructed by JKPCC Ltd. at an estimated cost of Rs. 17.41 core, the MD was informed that the main building of the court has already been handed over & functional. However, the DGM was directed to complete all pending work as per provision of DPR and Handover to Project Authority at the earliest.
The MD also inspected the progress of work on Govt. Degree College Khilotrian Bhalessa, being constructed by JKPCC ltd. at an estimated cost of Rs. 13.35 crore. It was informed that the building has been completed and handed over to the college authorities. The DGM was directed to expedite the external developmental works and complete them in the stipulated time period.
Community Hall at Khilotrian, is being constructed by JKPCC ltd. at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.79 crore where the framed structure including roofing has been completed while the further work was held up due to non-release of balance funds. The DGM was directed to submit the Balance work Estimates to the District Administration for release of funds to complete the building and put it to public use.
The Government Degree College Chatroo Kishtwar being constructed by JKPCC ltd. at an estimated cost of Rs. 13.00 crore was also inspected by the MD, where the Superstructure work for Academic, Administrative & Lab Block was in progress. The Managing Director was not satisfied with the progress of work and directed the DGM concerned to expedite the progress.
The progress of work on Government Polytechnic College Kishtwar, being constructed by JKPCC ltd. at an estimated cost of Rs 13.00 crore, Additional 100 Bedded IPD Block at DH Kishtwar, being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 19.64 crore and Foot suspension Bridge at Atholi Padder, being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 6.30 crore was also inspected by the MD.
He directed the Engineers to adhere to quality parameters and complete the projects as per committed timelines. He also took up the issues hampering the projects with the District Administration and sought the solutions for the same.
