DC B’la Finalises Arrangements for I-Day celebrations

Baramulla : Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today convened a meeting of officers from different departments to finalise arrangements for smooth Independence Day celebrations in the district.
Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla, Rayees Mohammad Bhat, Senior Superintendent of Police Sopore, Shabir Nawaab, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore Parveez Sajad, SDM Uri Harvinder Singh, SDM Pattan Syed Faheem, ACR, Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad, ACD, Yaar Ali Khan, Deputy Director, Superintending Engineers from R&B , PDD, PHE and other officers of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on arrangements to be put in place at the venue for the National function, including security, seating, transportation, parking, electricity, refreshment, medicare, availability of ambulance, deployment of fire tenders and sanitation measures.
The meeting was informed that the main function of the celebrations would be held in the District Police Line Baramulla, where the Chief Guest will unfurl the National Flag followed by inspection of parade .

It was decided that the march-past will be presented by contingents of JKP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency, Forest Protection Force, Police Band which would be followed by a colorful cultural programme by students.
The celebration of the day would begin with the playing of Shahnai Vadan and patriotic songs by the Information Department in the wee hours.
The District Information was asked to arrange Public Address System (PAS) and Media for the smooth coverage of the nation event.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the CMO to depute Medical teams along with ambulances at the venue to meet any eventuality. She further exhorted him to ensure that the Covid Appropriate Behavior is strictly abided during the event.
Executive officer from Municipal Council Baramulla was directed by the Deputy Commissioner to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness of the main venue.
The DC also instructed the Chief Education Officer to select the contingents and students for the national anthem and cultural programme.
Officials from JKSRTC were asked to make arrangements for transportation for children participating in cultural items during rehearsals and the day of the main event. Concerned departments were also instructed to arrange the refreshment for the students during rehearsals.
The concerned departments were asked to ensure proper arrangements related to security, sanitation, seating arrangements, barricading, water supply, power supply, issuance of invitation cards, fire tenders and illumination of important buildings etc on the Independence Day.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized upon all the officers to work with synergy and mutual coordination for smooth and successful conduct of I-Day celebrations.
Meanwhile, the DC impressed upon all the concerned departments to make ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Programme successful and also directed that every district office should hoist national flag on the said event.
