ADC Kulgam reviews functioning of National Senior citizen helpline

Kulgam : To ensure the functioning of National helpline for senior citizens (Elder Line 14567) effectively in the district, a meeting of Officers and stakeholders was held under the chairmanship of Additional Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather here at the mini-secretariat Kulgam.
This programme was attended by Programme Officer ICDS, SDM NOORABAD, ACD, DSWO, CMO, DySP Headquarter, Tehsildars and officers from other departments.
During this meeting stakeholders were sensitized about their role and responsibilities by State program Manager, Elderline and Field response officer.
It was informed that the senior citizens can call the helpline on toll free number 14567 daily from 8am to 8pm in case of need of assistance.
Moreover, the issues faced by the elderly citizens and mechanism in place for their prompt redressal was also discussed threadbare.
