Baramulla : In order to take first hand appraisal of arrangements being put in place for the upcoming holy month of Muharram, the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar accompanied by various senior officers of the district Thursday conducted an extensive tour of various Imam Barghas in the district.
During her visit to Goom Ahmadpora, Yakhmenpora Pattan and its adjoining areas, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the availability of essential arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of Majalis and mourning processions during the month of Muharram-ul-Harram.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with Imam Bara Intizamia Committees and enquired about the facilities available for them. She also urged people to follow Covid Appropriate Behavior in view of the recent spike Covid-19 cases.
The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure availability of uninterrupted water and power supply during the holy days. Municipal committees were also asked to ensure cleanliness in and around the worship places where large congregations are expected.
Further, the DC impressed upon the concerned officers to repair lanes and by-lanes leading to the Imaambaras. Directions were also passed to ensure the adequate ration supply for the devotees.
Moreover, the DC asked all the SDMs to personally visit the Imam Baras in their jurisdictions to ensure that the required facilities are provided to the said community.
