Budgam : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested four persons and seized four vehicles involved in extraction and transportation of minerals in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
In a statement issued here on Thursday police said that officers of Police Station Khansahab arrested four persons and also seized four vehicles including one JCB and three tippers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals from Govt land at khatresh wadur Khansahab, Stating therein further that the said accused persons have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad kuchay son of Abdul Raheem Kuchay resident of Branwar, Zahoor Ahmad Ganie son of Abdul Gani Ganie resident of Gurwaith KhanSahab, Mohd Iqbal Ganie son of Abdul Samad Ganie resident of Dabipora Yarikha and Abdul Qayoom Mir son of Ali Mohd Mir resident of Yarikha.
Stating that the above named accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in it’s statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 125/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khansahab and further investigation set into motion.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
