DDC Kupwara reviews progress of languishing projects

Kupwara : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir on Tuesday asked concerned officers including BDOs to maintain the timeline for all target works for its completion.
As per a press statement, the DDC was addressing a meeting of concerned officers held here on Tuesday to review the progress achieved in respect of Amrit Sarovars/water bodies, executed by various departments including RDD, Forest, I&FC, S&WC in the district.
The DDC reviewed agenda points one by one and received feedback from every officer. He expressed his displeasure over the sluggish and lazy nature of work of some officers and advised them to speed up the developmental tempo in their respective jurisdictions.
He said people have pinned faith on the administration and administration is duty bound to come up on the expectations of the general public.
The DDC asked BDOs to ensure frequent field visits so that well planned developmental activities could be ensured.
He also asked the newly posted ACD to monitor pace of progress at his own level also.
While reviewing the Amrit Sarovar, the DDC was informed that 54 works have been approved under the Amrit Sarovar programme for the current financial year under Converge of MGNREGA.
The DDC asked concerned officers to identify 100 works out of 3640 MGNREGA water harvesting works to be developed as Amrit Sarovars.
The meeting also reviewed various other issues including Labour Budget, Target/Achievements, Geo-tagging, Secure Estimation, SBM, PMAY, IWMP and Solid Waste Management.
The DDC was informed that 94,146 job cards have been issued in 385 panchayat halqas of the district out of which 82,677 are active job cards.
The meeting was further informed that the Aadhaar linkage has increased upto 99.03 percent. Besides, it was also informed that under the Labour Budget, 128241 person days of work have been generated till date.
Reviewing the Secure estimation status of current financial year, the meeting was informed that 7494 works have been uploaded on MIS portal.
Regarding Geo-tagging status, it was informed that 50,747 assets have been tagged out of the total 50,857 assets created.
JD Planning, ACD, ACP, CEO, Executive Engineers, BDOs and other officers and officials attended the meeting.
