LCMA conducts special demolition drive in several city areas

Srinagar : A special demolition drive was on Monday launched by Lake Conservation & Management Authority (LCMA) through its Enforcement Wing in the areas of Nigeen, Saidakadal, Saderbal, Baghwanpora Lal Bazar, Mandibal Nowshera and Nowpora.
As per an official spokesman, during the demolition drive, two single storeys, three 2nd storeys, one bunker, two plinths and one block were demolished on-spot. Moreover, legal action was also initiated against the violators.
The demolition team was accompanied by a police party from PCR.
Meanwhile, all the public residing within the LCMA jurisdiction and in lake are hereby once again directed not to go for any sort of illegal constructions/ encroachments, as the Enforcement wing will continue its demolition drives of illegal constructions/ removal of encroachments and strict action will be taken against the violators who shall be found indulging in illegal construction activities.
Also, CCTV Cameras have been installed and barricades have been erected in order to curb the transportation of illegal building material in the LCMA jurisdiction.
Moreover, the locals residing in the area of LCMA are informed to apply for online building permissions through LCMA online official portal/website.
