Jammu : Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa on Tuesday convened a meeting with district officers from different departments and sensitized them about the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program, according to a statement issued here.
CPO Yoginder Katoch, CEO SS Rathore, AD FCS&CS Vipin Bhagat along with Nodal officers from JMC, Colleges and BDOs were present in the meeting.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner sensitized the officers regarding the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ program and asked them to make all arrangements to make this campaign a grand success.
She said that the National Flag will be provided to all nodal officers by next week for distribution in their respective areas of jurisdiction well in time. She also said that the price of the flag has been fixed at a nominal rate of Rs 20 only.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the flags in rural areas would be distributed through BDOs, while in schools the CEO Jammu has to look after the distribution process.
Similarly, in urban areas, the JMC would be the nodal agency for the distribution of flags in Municipal areas and wards. Nodal officers from Police and Colleges were tasked with the responsibility for the same in their departments.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the BDOs to involve PRI members for smooth distribution of flags and motivating the people to be part of the festival.
Similar instructions were given to JMC to involve Corporators and Market Associations for the purpose.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the centre government has announced this program to further strengthen the feeling of patriotism among the countrymen.
She said that this is the first time when all countrymen can unfurl the Tricolor at their homes from 13th to 15th August as per the guidelines under Flag Code of India 2002.
She said that it will connect the young generation with the development and security of the country for many years to come. She also urged everyone to participate in this campaign.
