DDC Reasi Reviews Implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission

118 water supply schemes approved, more in pipeline: SE Hydraulics

Reasi :District Development Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakhwal on Monday reviewed the implementation of JJM schemes in the district here at a meeting of District Jal Jevan Committee attended by officers/ officials of Jal Shakti department and the Committee members (officers of different departments) held here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex Reasi.
As per a press statement, a detailed presentation was made by SE hydraulic circle Udhampur-Reasi regarding progress of different projects being executed under JJM in the district.
The Chairperson DJJM also took detailed review of blockwise tendering and allotments of various works apart from those under execution.
It was apprised that as per the revised DAP, as many as 118 water supply schemes, costing Rs. 705.96 cr have been approved for Reasi district . It was also conveyed by Jal Shakti department that 21 schemes are under execution and are at different stages of completion.
The DJJMC was also informed that additional allotments have also been made in respect of 25 borewells and 07 dug wells pertaining to 17 schemes in the district, while as allotments for another 24 schemes are expected to be made within 3 -4 days
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC urged upon officers to monitor all works regularly and ensure quality works. She also emphasized upon the officers to remove bottlenecks, if any, for timely completion of approved Plan, besides urging all to involve people and specifically PRIs in the pre and post execution/management of schemes as the mission is community driven.
The DC directed for monthly conduct of DJJMC meetings to take effective measures for timely and effective completion of the works. She further called for evaluation of the District Action Plan at regular intervals and directed for regular training of community members for better & effective results on ground.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Jyoti Salathia, CPO Sunita Kanchan, DFO, ACD ,CEO ,CMO , DSWO ,Executive Engineer Reasi , MID Dharmari and Ground water & Drilling Division Jammu and other District level committee members and officers/officials of Jal Shakti Department
