DC Kathua Reviews Performance of ICDS, Social Welfare, FCS & CA Deptt

Kathua : Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey on Monday reviewed the functioning of the ICDS, Social Welfare and FCS&CA Department here at a meeting held in the Conference Hall of the DC office Complex.
Among the others, Programme Officer ICDS, Kulbhushan Khajuria; District Social Welfare Officer, Abdul Rahim, AD FCS&CA Haroon Rashid and CDPOs attended the meeting.
The meeting held detailed deliberations on covering more numbers of beneficiaries under the scope of schemes offered under ICDS & Social Welfare Departments. Besides, a review of Public Distribution of Ration under all schemes was also held.
At the Outset, the PO ICDS gave a detailed account of the status of several Central and UT schemes being implemented in the district. Besides, he also gave details about the activities undertaken under different schemes like Supplementary Nutrition, Health Checkups, Pradhan Mantri Matritva Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), Poshan Abhiyan and the Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG), BBBP and Ladli Beti.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the field functionaries of ICDS to ensure saturation of all schemes in their respective areas. He also called for maintaining inter-departmental coordination to achieve 100% coverage of schemes of Health, ICDS and Education sectors.
The DC also exhorted upon the CDPOs to ensure 100% AADHAR seeding in their respective areas.
While reviewing the Social Welfare schemes, the Deputy Commissioner also called upon DSWO to explore income generating avenues for skilled women to make them independent and self-reliant.
The DC also took a detailed review of the progress achieved by the department in different schemes viz NSAP, ISSS, NFBS, SMAS, PMAGY, ADIP, BBBP, SCA to SCP, BJRCY etc.
The DC also took stock of the progress made under various schemes being implemented by FCS&CA.
Underscoring the importance of extending benefits to the genuine beneficiaries of various schemes , the DC directed AD FCS&CA to ensure that purification of the lists of genuine beneficiaries shall be made on regular intervals.
The DC exhorted upon the officers to ensure effective implementation of all schemes in a focused and concerted way so that the desired objectives are achieved at the grassroots level
