Jammu : Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Shier-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) Friday flagged off 59 final year students including 29 girl students of Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc & A.H) for an Educational Tour to Kashmir and Ladakh.
Dr. M.S. Bhadwal , Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry was also present.
Prof. Sharma blessed the students and wished them a safe and fruitful journey. He said that the educational tour offers students an opportunity for a rich immersion of experiences. Students converse and socialize with local people, which broaden their perspective greatly. Further, he said that such tour provides effective learning from real-world experience, better chance for exchange of ideas, personal development, enhances perspective of the world around and better networking skills
Dr. Bhadwal said that the students will visit different animal farms of the Animal/ Sheep husbandry department of J&K and Ladakh and also visit SKUAST-Kashmir and other places of educational importance.
The students will have an opportunity to get exposure to different animal farms, laboratories and animal clinics which will help them in exploring entrepreneurial career opportunities in times to come. Faculty members of Veterinary and Agriculture College were also present on the occasion. The student tour is being led by Dr. S.A. Khandi and Dr. Deep Shikha, Assistant Professors, F.V.Sc & A.H
