Budgam : Police on Friday said that a coordination meeting was held with Shia leaders at District Police Headquarters Budgam.
According to a police statement issued on Friday the meeting was chaired by Addl. SP Budgam Gowhar Ahmed, along with DySP Hrqs Budgam Naeem Wani, Dy SP DAR Owais Rashid, SHO PS Budgam and I/C PP Soibugh. The meeting was attended by prominent representatives of Shia community of District Budgam.
During the meeting, discussions were held on various security and public issues regarding Muharram arrangements and threadbare discussions were held on various aspects of arrangements including ensuring proper security deployment, traffic management and availability of other amenities related to Police. The chairing officer assured that full cooperation will be provided by Police during the Muharram days.
The participants in the meeting assured their full co-operation to Police and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating such interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely. The meeting concluded on a positive note.
Police organises Thana Diwas in Kulgam
Kulgam : Police in Kulgam have organized ‘Thana Diwas’ at PS Devsar, PS Behibagh and PS Kund and the said meetings were chaired by respective jurisdictional Police officers.
According to a police statement issued on Friday the meetings were attended by the respectable citizens, Civil societies of concerned areas, Sarpanchs, Panchs, including members of Auqaf Committees, Numberdars, Chowkidars, Traders federation and Transporters of respective areas.
During the meetings, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of civil administration will be taken up with the concerned Departments for their early redressal. While speaking on the occasions, it was reiterated that the main aim of organising ‘Thana Divas’ is to improve efficiency, transparency and accountability in Policing at grassroot level and to hear and redress grievances of general public, besides seek support and active cooperation in maintaining L&O, curbing drug menace and others social evils in the areas.
The participants were also stressed to co-operate with Police in identifying anti-national and anti social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment in the district. The participants appreciated the role of Police for conducting such interactive meetings which further boost community policing and public confidence.
