Abducted minor girl recovered within hours in Pulwama, accused arrested: Police

Pulwama : Police on Thursday said that it has recovered abducted minor girl within hours by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that Police Station Kakapora on July 13 received a written application from a resident of Naman Kakapora who alleged therein that his minor daughter has been abducted by one Nadeem Nabi Wagay son of Gh Nabi Wagay resident of Kandajan Budgam.
Stating that after receiving the said complaint a case FIR No. 56/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kakapora and investigation was set into motion, Police in it’s statement further said that a special Police team was constituted to trace out the abducted girl and during the course of investigation Police team while acting swiftly raided various suspected locations and after strenuous efforts, the Police traced out the abducted girl and recovered her from village Watkaloo, Chrar-i-Sharief Budgam.
“The accused person involved in the commission of crime has also been arrested”, reads the above quoted police statement, adding that “after fulfilling all medico legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs”.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood and share information pertaining to social crimes with local police units reassuring the people therein that efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue.
