Police organises Thana Diwas in Budgam, Shopian

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it organized ‘Thana Diwas’ across the Shopian district besides organising Thana Diwas in district Budgam at Police Station Charar-e-Shareef and Police Station Magam.
According to police statement issued on Thursday In Budgam, at Police Station Charar-e-Shareef the event was chaired by SDPO Charar-e-Shareef Salim Jehangir accompanied by SHO PS Charar-e-Shareef. The event was attended by respectable citizens of Charar-e-Shareef and other adjoining villages of Charar-e-Shareef. Similarly, Thana Diwas was also observed at Police Station Magam which was chaired by SDPO Magam Mohammad Salim alongwith SHO PS Magam. The event was attended by Numberdars, Chowkidars, Auqaf committee members and other respectable citizens of different areas of Magam.
In Shopian, Thana Diwas was organized at PS Shopian, PS Zainapora, PS Keller, PS Heerpora & PS Immamsahib, chaired by concerned SHO’s. The meetings were attended by the respectable citizens, civil societies of concerned areas, including members of Auqaf Committees, Lumberdars, Chowkidars, Traders etc.
During these events, various issues/grievances of public interest were raised by the participants. During these events, all the grievances were heard and were segregated on the basis of area of action and jurisdiction. The attendees were assured that all the grievances pertaining to Police department will be dealt as per the law and remaining grievances lying outside the domain of Police department will be taken up with the concerned authorities under laid down procedure.
During these meetings, the cooperation of general public in eradication of drug abuse, social crimes etc were sought. Participants were stressed upon to co-operate with Police in curbing the drug menace and in identifying anti national and anti-social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
The participants appreciated the role of Police for conducting such interaction meetings and assured their full support & cooperation in curbing the menace of social evils of the society.
