Srinagar: President J&K National Conference Dr Farooq Abdullah and party’s Vice President Omar Abdullah, President J&K Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone, Chairman J&K Peoples Democratic Front Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen and several other on Saturday extended their warm greetings and well wishes to the J&K people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
In his message President J&K National Conference Dr. Farooq Abdullah said, “As the Muslim Ummah unite to observe Eid Al Azha, I take this opportunity to extend my warm greetings to everyone on the blessed and auspicious occasion. The auspicious day commemorates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) to sacrifice his son, Hazrat Ismail (AS) in the way of the Almighty. The all merciful Almighty however spared Hazrat Ismail (AS) by staying in Hazrat Ibrahim’s hand and placing a ram in his place. Hence the day is reminiscent of the greatest sacrifice in the history of mankind. On this day, it is imperative for all of us to prioritize the poor and deserving by doing everything possible to bring smiles on their faces. The core philosophy of the day evokes deep concern for the needy and offers us a window of opportunity to alleviate the plight of the poor and destitute and imbue ourselves with the spirit of compassion, generosity, empathy and care. May the day provide relief to the beleaguered people of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and rid them of all the tribulations and problems they are facing.”
While extending warm felicitations to the people, Omar Abdullah said, “At the very beginning, I wish Eid Mubarak to all. The auspicious day of the Eid Al Azha stresses on the need for equality of mankind, god consciousness, generosity, alms giving and peaceful coexistence of the entire human kind. The divinely inspired sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH) and the obedience of his son Hazrat Ismail (PBUH) have immortalized the day till eternity. I hope and pray that the day strengthens the cord of brotherhood between the different communities in J&K and Ladakh. I also hope that the day acts as a harbinger of healthier times, and much needed peace and stability to the entire region.”
In his felicitation message, Bukhari said, “I extend my warm greetings to the people of J&K on this auspicious occasion, and I pray for the well-being and tranquility of my people. For the Muslims, Eid-ul-Adha is one the most revered festival that is to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s devotion to Almighty Allah, thus, the festival teaches us devotion and obedience to our creator. Thus, we ought to celebrate this auspicious Eid with religious fervor.”
Bukhari also urged people to help the needy and poor brethren on this special occasion. He said, “The occasion of Eid-ul-Adha should bring out the best virtues in us as Muslims. We should share our joy with each other, especially with the less privileged people around us.”
In his felicitation message, Chairman J&K Peoples Conference Sajad Gani Lone wished all Muslims around the world a peaceful and joyful Eid-ul-Azha.
“I extend my warm wishes to the people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. May this Eid deepen the spirit of harmony, peace and progress in Jammu and Kashmir”, he said in his message. Reflecting on the lessons of sacrifice, compassion, unity and mutual respect, Lone said we must adhere to the teachings of HazratIbraham (AS) and include the underprivileged sections of the society in our happiness. “We should thank Almighty Allah for the blessings bestowed on us. Eid-ul-Azha teaches and reminds us of the meaning of sacrifice, love and forbearance with God and in our relationships with one another. We must also remember the economically downtrodden and underprivileged sections of the society and make them part of the Eid Celebration by extending all support to the people in need,” he added.
In his Eid greetings message, former Minister and Chairman J&K Peoples Democratic Front Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen while felicitating people on the auspicious religious festival of EidulAzha said that this occasion imbibes the sacred values of obedience, sacrifice and compassion as exhibited by the Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son Hazrat Ismail (a.s) to honour the will of All mighty Allaah. He said Eidul-Adha (‘Festival of Sacrifice’) is one of the most important festivals in the Muslim calendar adding that the special occasion also teaches to remember the lesser privileged, destitute and downtrodden sections of the society and to share our joy with them. Highlighting the spirit of sacrifice and selflessness that is epitomized by Eid-ul-Azha, he said it was important to remember families, especially children who had lost their near and dear ones due to long spell of turmoil in Jammu and Kashmir. PDF Chairman has prayed that the auspicious occasion may prove as harbinger of lasting peace and prosperity for Jammu and Kashmir.
Chairman of Helping Hands of Valley AqibUlAhad in a separate statement also felicitated the people of J&K and entire Muslim community across the globe on the auspicious occasion of Eid-al-Adha. In his message Aqib prayed that this Eid may bring health & happiness and peace & prosperity in the lives of people.
