RTA approves 65 route permits in Rajouri

Rajouri : Regional Transport Authority Thursday issued 65 route permits for different areas of the district here at a meeting chaired by District Development Commissioner, VikasKundal. The house also approved 6 cases for change of routes.
While taking serious note of road accidents in the district, the DDC asked the ARTO and Traffic Department to conduct special drives and to take strict action against the violators.
The DDC asked the regulating authority to ensure early operationalisation of the approved route permits and to maintain a close check on overloading, overcharging and irregular vehicular movement.
The committee also identified ten routes for plying the e-rickshaw and e-autos to reduce vehicular pollution in the district. The routes included Old Bus Stand to Convoy Ground via GujjarMandi, Old Bus Stand to Hospital via Bella Colony, Old Bus Stand to Degree College via Bella Colony, Old Bus Stand to New Bus Stand via Air Field Road, Old Bus Stand to Convoy Ground via Bella Colony, University Stand to GMC Rajouri, Khandli to GMC Rajouri, New Bus Stand to Convoy Ground, Hospital to GMC Rajouri via Air Field road and New Bus Stand to District Court via Tariq Bridge.
Among others, Senior Superintendent of Police, Mohd Aslam and Assistant Regional Transport Officer, Shami Kumar were present during the meeting.
