One day convention on BBBP organised in Rajouri, DC calls for empowerment of women

Girls should not limit themselves in any way but pursue their dreams and passion: DC

Rajouri :Deputy Commissioner, VikasKundal presided over the One-Day Convention on BetiBachaoBetiPadhao campaign organised by the Social Welfare Department (One Stop Centre for Women) and Convenor BBBP here Thursday.
Colourful cultural presentations were given by young children at the event. Later, the officials of One Stop Centre also educated the participants about services being provided to the women which include emergency response, rescue response, medicare facilities, legal aid, psycho-social counselling, assistance to women in lodging FIR and shelter etc.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is committed to take all possible steps to ensure the upliftment of girls and women in the society and to safeguard their rights to enable them live a respectable life.
Calling for sustained collaborative efforts to encourage girls at all levels, he urged all the stakeholders to work in tandem and deliver the benefits of various schemes of the government.
Later, the girl students were felicitated for their meritorious performance in academics. Ration kits were also handed over to the beneficiaries during the event.
In his welcome address, the District Social Welfare Officer called for collective efforts to improve sex ratio besides providing equal opportunities to girl child.
The event was attended by SSP, Mohd Aslam; ASP, VivekShekhar; CMO, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar; Dy CMO, Dr AneesAltafNabi; DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; AD Planning, Mohd Rafi; ExEn REW, Bashir Ahmed; Administrator OSC, Nitu Sharma among other officials.
Sarpanch and convenor Samreen Khan among girls and women in large numbers were also present at the event.
