Ramban :A team of the Legal Metrology Department headed by Assistant Controller, Ramban Anil Kumar conducted market inspection in Ramban market, here Thursday.
During the drive, various trade establishments were inspected, particularly those dealing with grocery items, eatables, vegetables, fruits and medical equipment.
The inspection team booked five traders for violation of the Legal Metrology Act and collected a sum of Rs 6300 as fine from the offenders.
All the traders were directed to use only verified weighing and measuring instruments in their trading premises and not to indulge in overcharging and other unfair trade practices. The department further appealed all to remain cautious and exercise their right as vigilant consumers.
