Kishtwar :A review meeting of Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Kishtwar was held Thursday under the Chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner, Sham Lal.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Varunjeet Singh Charak, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Dr Sanjay Kumar Sen, Executive Officer Municipal Council, Tariq Balwan and others members of Committee attended the meeting.
The house discussed the functioning of SPCA Kishtwar in which the chair was informed by the Member Secretary SPCA Kishtwar, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sen(CAHO Kishtwar) that land has been identified at Dool and BemarnagHidyal for establishment of Gaushalla besides toll free helpline number has been launched. A bank account of the society has been opened and Rapid Response Teams have been constituted at block levels, he was informed. MVO Kishtwar has been designated as Nodal Officer of the teams and Department of Animal Husbandry Kishtwar is to take care of sick and injured animals, it was added.
Direction was passed by chair to implement all the provisions of SPCA and to follow the SOPs in letter and spirit and to appoint an inspector/ Nodal Officer for strict implementation of the SOPs.
Directions were also passed for fencing of the lands identified for SPCA Gaushalla at Dool and HidyalKishtwar. Further it was decided to expedite the process of raising funds for proper functioning of the society and to involve NGOs for the purpose
