DDC Chairperson G’bal distributes 30 scooters among specially-abled persons

G’bl :DDC Chairperson Ganderbal, NuzhatIshfaq along with ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba and District Social Welfare officer Ganderbal distributed 30 motorized scooters among the specially abled persons here, Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson said that the motorized tricycle scooters provided by the Social Welfare Department to the physically challenged persons is a very good step taken by the Government to facilitate them in performing routine work.
The DDC Chairperson said that Government is going to saturate the distribution of prosthetic aid among PWDs this year and in this connection, District Social welfare Office & Rural Development Department being nodal agencies shall conduct survey of remaining eligible PWDs with the assistance of Anganwari workers and PRI functionaries in identification of eligible PWDs for motorized scooters and other prosthetic Aid.
DSWO Ganderbal informed that the sccoties were sanctioned /arranged by J&K Rehabilitation council and said that the Department has now achieved 100% saturation upto march 2022 and till date 85 scooties have been provided to eligible persons of Ganderbal.
