DC Kupwara distributes motorized tricycles among 11 specially-abled persons

Kupwara :Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir Wednesday provided Motorized Tricycles among 11 specially-abled persons of district Kupwara at a function organized at D.C. Office Kupwara in presence of District Social Welfare officer Kupwara.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the beneficiaries and advised them to make better use of this facility. He said government is committed to provide every possible support to the weaker sections of the society including specially-abled persons. He said various welfare schemes are in operation under Social Welfare Department adding that people need to come forward and take advantage of the schemes aimed at to provide succor to the needy and destitute persons.
On the occasion, District Social Welfare officer Kupwara briefed the Deputy Commissioner about various welfare schemes and programmes of the department and informed that as many as 73 such Motorized Tricycles are being distributed among the beneficiaries during the current month. He said the cost of each motorized tricycle is Rs.1.20 lakh. He further informed that Social Welfare department is working on 100% saturation in beneficiary oriented schemes including Motorized Tricycles scheme.
The beneficiaries who received motorized tricycles expressed their gratitude towards the District Administration and Social Welfare department.
