B’gam :Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, the Food Safety Department Budgam intensified market checking drive across various markets in the district.
The checking squad led by Designated Officer Food Safety Budgam, YameenUlNabi conducted inspections of various restaurants, bakery and confectionery and other food outlets at Main Town and Old and New Bus Stands, Ompora and other markets.
During the drive, the team of experts conducted spot testing of food items and sensitized food business operators to ensure sale of standard and quality food items.
Emphasizing on the high level of hygiene and cleanliness, the inspection squad warned strict action against the sale of substandard and low quality items or any sort of violations against the Food Safety and Standards Act.
During the on spot testing a couple of food operators were booked for violations.
Speaking on the occasion, Designated Officer Food Safety Budgam YameenUlNabi said that the drive shall continue to ensure sale of food items in proper hygienic atmosphere across all markets in Budgam.
