Forest Rights Act: DC B’pora reviews progress, disposal of FRA claims

B’pora : The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed Saturday chaired a meeting of officers to discuss various issues related to progress/disposal of claims under Forest Rights Act.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, ADC Bandipora Waseem Raja, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Parvaiz Rahim, ACD Ab Rashid Das, DFO Bandipora Shabir Ahmad, BDO Bandipora, Tehsildar Bandipora and other concerned officers.
The meeting discussed progress related to FRA claims of individuals and Communities.
The DC directed all the concerned to assess reasons for pendency of FRA cases at FRC level.
The DC directed to verify all eligible genuine FRA claims and submit the cases to sub divisional Level committee for assessment.
Dr. Owais stressed on coordinated approach for effective implementation of Forest Rights Act. He asked the concerned departments to work in cooperation to obtain desired results.
