B’gam : The arrangements for the ensuing festive occasion of Eid-ul-Azha were reviewed Saturday in a meeting held at Conference Hall Budgam.
ADC Budgam, Dr Nasir Ahmad who chaired the meeting directed the Municipal authorities to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness at all the places and particularly at those places where congregation prayers would be offered on Eid-ul-Azha.
He exhorted upon the concerned to constitute special joint market squads in all tehsils who not only will ensure implementation of officials rates but also sale of quality food items across all markets.
He instructed a separate team of officers and officials from Animal and Sheep husbandry departments shall conduct regular inspections of sacrificial animal sale points to keep check on the health status of animals and ensure sale and purchase of healthy animals.
The meeting was informed that special sale markets have been established at Budgam, Beerwah, Chadoora, Charisharief, Khansahib, and all other prominent towns, where sacrificial animals will be put on sale.
Market checking squads were instructed to take strict action against profiteers and black-marketing and ensure that no sub standard, adulterated or spurious items are sold. The rate list should be displayed on every business establishment.
The ADC also urged the Fire and Emergency services to be prepared to deal with any eventuality.
PHE and PDD authorities were directed to provide scheduled water and electricity supply in all areas.
Health department was instructed to ensure first aid camps are held as per past practice and duty roster is followed in letter and spirits at all health centres.
The meeting was also attended by JD Planning, SDMs, ACP, DY CMO, Exen PHE, PDD, all Tehsildars, ARTO, DFSO, Deputy Registrar Cooperative, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Officers, DySP Headquarter and all Executive officers of Municipal Committees.
Don’t move near River Chenab: Dulhasti Power Station Mgmt tells People
Kishtwar : NHPC Dulhasti Power Station Management has asked people not to move near River Chenab.
According to an official statement issued here on Saturday the Management of Dulhasti Power Station, NHPC Limited has cautioned General Public of Distt-Doda and Kishtwar and Public of village Dul, Benzwar, Cherhar, Bhandarkot, Hasti, Kandani, Prem Nagar & Pul Doda to not to move near River Chenab on 5th July (Thursday) as the gates of Dulhasti Power Station Dam shall be opened for reservoir flushing during this period.
“The Dam gates of Dulhasti Power Station will be opened for reservoir flushing on 5th July (Thursday) from 22:30 hrs of 5th July to 18:30 hrs of 6th July”, the statement reads, adding that “During this period the water level of River Chenab may rise to 2 to 3 meters in the downstream areas of the river. Therefore, the public residing near and in the downstream areas of River Chenab are being cautioned to refrain from moving themselves / their cattle/ Trucks & Tippers near the banks of River Chenab to avoid any mishap and to co-operate for the safety of their lives”. The statement further reads “anybody violating the request shall be doing so at his/her own risk and responsibility and NHPC/Management of Dulhasti Power Station shall not be responsible for consequences thereof”.
