B’gam: Police on Friday said that it has solved a theft case in Budgam by arresting 2 accused person involved in the commission of crime and also recovered stolen property from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Friday police said police Post Waterihail received a complaint from a shopkeeper to the effect that 02 bike borne youth disguised as customer and fled away with 8 boxes of cigarettes with 24 cigarette packets in each box.
Police in its statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 100/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Khansahib and investigation was initiated.
Sating further that during the course of investigation, officers investigating the case were able to zero in on two persons after utilising all available means including analysing CCTV footages and identified them as Umer Hassan son of Ghulam Hassan Mir & Nadeem Yousuf Bhat son of Yousuf Bhat, both residents of Kalshipora Khansahib, police in it’s statement further said that the above name accused have been arrested and shifted to Police Station.
Stating further that motorcycle used in the commission of crime has also been seized and stolen property has also been recovered from their possession and further investigation is going on, Police in the above referred statement appealed shopkeepers and other business owners to install CCTV Cameras in their establishments so that such kind of incidents can be curbed.
