IZDL Tournament for Girls organised in Kishtwar

Kishtwar :In an endeavour to promote sports activities and to follow the annual calendar of activities approved by the Director Youth Services & Sports J&K in letter and spirit, the Department of Youth Services and Sports Kishtwar Thursday organised Inter Zonal District Level competitions for U 14 and U 19 Girls in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Tug of war, Rope Skipping here under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports officer Kharati Lal Sharma.
In the tournament, students from all the zones of the District participated with enthusiasm and displayed sportsmanship spirit.
Pertinently these competitions are being carried out to provide an opportunity to the girl student players to hone and groom their hidden talent in the respective discipline.
The District Youth Services and Sports Officer, while sharing his views with the participants, highlighted the importance of games and conveyed his good wishes to the participants for exhibiting discipline during the course of the programmes.
The winners were appreciated and the average performers were encouraged. The matches were played under the close guidance of Ram Saroop Bhandari, PEM and overall incharge of the tournament.
During the tournament, the matches were played by following all the Covid SOPs and the result of matches were announced by the conveners on the same day.
In Kho-Kho (U14 Girls), Zone Inderwal was declared winner, while in Kho-Kho (U19 Girls), Zone Paddar was declared qualified.
In the Kabbadi (U19 Girls), Zone Kishtwar won the final and in Tug of War U19, zone Kishtwar was declared qualified.
