DDC Kishtwar inaugurates Distt Rural Haat

Kishtwar :District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma on Thursday inaugurated District Rural Haat here. The facility has been created by NRLM with the support of the Rural Development Department and District Administration.
The event was also attended by Assistant Commissioner Development, AtulDutt Sharma; BDO Sheetal Sharma; Block Programme Managers Nagseni and Paddar, besides other officials and members of SHGs Umeed.
The programme was launched under the theme UMEED “SakshamNarikiPehchan”.
In this Rural Haat, Self Help Groups of State Rural Livelihood Mission shall display their products for sale.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Kishtwar said that the rural Haat will serve as a common platform for showcasing the local products made by Women SHG members and also cater as a common sale point.
He also inspected the stalls and interacted with SHG members and inquired about the products displayed by them.
The DDC Kishtwar appreciated the efforts of women associated with UMEED.
The District Nodal Officer JKRLM (UMEED) Javaid Ahmed informed about the progress of SRLM Umeed and their linkage to the markets through online platforms like Flipkart, Meesho etc.
