DDC chairs Block Diwas at Gagren, Shopian

Feedback sought from public on developmental issues & listened to grievances

Shopian:The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya Wednesday chaired Block Diwas at BDO Office Gagren, here.
On the occasion, DDC met scores of deputations of locals, Social Activists and PRIs and listened to their grievances.
The visiting delegations, individuals projected various issues including, macadamization of roads, potable drinking water facility, repairs of lanes and bylanes, road connectivity and other issues of public importance.
During interaction with the people, the DDC took stock of different ongoing developmental works and emphasised upon Officers present for timely completion of developmental projects.
He also reviewed the status of progress on previous grievances flagged-off by the public during various Block Diwas programmes.
The DDC directed the BDO Shopian to speed up the under-construction works of the block. He also directed the EO, MC Shopian to co-ordinate with the concerned and ensure timely completion of all the left out works within the fixed timeline to facilitate the general masses.
With regard to the convenience of people coming from far-off places to participate in the Block Diwas, the DDC directed the officers to ensure completion of all kinds of works well in time. He directed the officers to monitor the proceedings of Block Diwas and ensure that the records of grievances are maintained for follow up action.
Directions were also issued for strict enforcement of the anti-encroachment drive on war-footing basis to ensure its implementation in letter and spirit and stern action against the violators and said that any kind of construction on state land would be seriously monitored and retrieved in the district.
Later, the DDC toured Keller-Dunaroo, MashwaraTakwan-Gatipora roads and adjacent villages and took stock of developmental scenario and macadamization works.
