Drug peddler held in Budgam, Contraband Substance recovered: Police

B’gam: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested one drug peddler in Budgam and also recovered contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued on Tuesday police said that during the course of investigation of case FIR No. 117/2022 of PS Chadoora, investigating team arrested one more drug peddler identified as Arifat Ahmed Yatoo son of Mohammad Maqbool Yatoo resident of Dalipora Nagam in the instant case. Stating further that officers also recovered 5.5Kgs of Poppy Straw and 01 Bottle of Codeine Phosphate from his possession, Police in it’s statement further said that the said drug peddler was arrested on the revelation of already arrested drug peddler namely Firdous Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Ahmad Wani resident of Chadoora who was arrested on June 26 along with 66 bottles of Codeine Phosphate in the instant case and Further investigation is still going on.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law.
