Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that police along with civil authorities have sealed a factory in Khunmoh area of Srinagar.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that it acted on specific information received from reliable sources that a factory registered in the name of M/S Zainab Textiles situated at Phase-2 Khunmoh is involved in illegal/unlawful activity of manufacturing/processing of Beer.
Stating further that a Police party of PS Panthachowk under the supervision of SDPO Pantha Chowk alongwith officials from Excise department, Revenue department and Food department raided the suspected spot, police in it’s statement further said that during search, large quantity of beer bottles was recovered and subsequently seized on spot, stating therein further that the machine used in the manufacturing process has also been seized.
Police in the concluding para of it’s statement further said that a case FIR No. 64/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Panthachowk and investigation has been initiated.
