DDC Rajouri reviews maintenance of Water Supply Schemes

Rajouri: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, VikasKundal Saturday reviewed the repair and maintenance of water supply schemes here at a meeting of functionaries of Jal Shakti Mechanical division.
Officers who attended the meeting included CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ExEnJal Shakti Rajouri, Mushtaq Ahmed; ExEn Mechanical Rajouri, Manmohan Singh and other concerned officers.
During the meeting, it was informed that there are 324 schemes in the district out of which 08 are nonfunctional. The DDC was briefed about the status of ongoing repair work on these schemes and the progress achieved in this regard as of now.
The DDC asked the concerned officer to restore all the non-functional water supply schemes at the earliest to provide adequate drinking water supply to the general public.
He said that the timely repair will benefit the community and people should not be deprived of water which is a basic necessity of mankind.
Seeking the status of works of mechanical division under District Capex Budget and untied grants, it was informed that 17 works have been taken up under District Capex Budget and 06 under untied grants and the tenders for all the works have been floated.
The DDC also asked the concerned officers to take effective measures to redress public grievances related to water timely so that they don’t face any inconveniences.
