Kupwara: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir Saturday inspected ongoing construction work of Government Polytechnic College, Karihama in Kupwara.
The college is coming up at a cost of Rs.1935.89 lakh.
On the occasion, the DDC went around the area of the college and inspected various under construction rooms of the college. He was informed that the main building comprises 5 blocks interconnected to each other, workshop block, compound walling, internal roads and main gate.
Khalid Jahangir was informed that about Rs.13 crore have been expended on the execution of the college complex so far.
The DDC directed the concerned executing agencies to redouble their efforts and speed up the construction work. He also fixed the timeline of the 29th of this month for completion of the main block.
The DGM JKPCC was directed to adhere to quality parameters during execution of work and significantly improve workmanship.
The DDC was accompanied by a team of officers and concerned engineers.
