DES organises workshop on NSS 79th Round Socio- Economic Survey

Srinagar: The two training programme on National Sample Survey (NSS) 79th Round Socio-Economic survey commenced Friday at Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Bemina, here under the chairmanship of Regional Director, E&S Kashmir.
The training programme scheduled for 24th and 25th of June, 2022 has been organised by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, J&K.
This year the survey is earmarked for Comprehensive Annual Modular Survey and Survey on AYU
Athar Hussain Qadri, Regional Director, E&S Kashmir in his address highlighted the importance of the programme viz-a-viz role of Directorate for collecting the data on the designed surveys. He impressed upon all the field functionaries for collecting reliable and coherent data that will pave the way for making Government policies.
Earlier, Ashiq Hussain Bhat, Joint Director (Survey), DES, welcomed the participants and briefed them about the survey and encouraged them to take full benefit of training so that quality data could be obtained for the preparation of NSS reports.
The first day of training will be devoted to the discussion on concepts, definitions, listing schedule and schedule on CAMS and on the second and concluding day, training will be imparted on AYUSH schedule.
A practical training and feedback session will also be held for the participants. The training will be imparted by Mohammad IsamilBangroo, Assistant Director (Survey), DES and Tahseen Mustafa, Senior Statistical Officer, NSO, FOD, RO, Jammu.
The training is being attended by Riyaz Ahmad Ramshoo, Joint Director (Evl), DES, Ashiq Hussain, Joint Director (Survey), DES, Gh. Mohammad Dar, Dy. Director (Estates), DES, Inam-Ul-Haq, Dy. Director (SIU), DES, Shah IsamilBangroo, Assistant Director (Survey) DES and all the10 District Statistics & Evaluation Officers (DSEOs) of Kashmir Division along with their concerned NSS staff and other officers and officials of Directorate of Economics & Statistics/Regional Directorate, E&S Kashmir related to the survey.
