DH Udhampur receives quality certification under LaQshya Prog of NHM

Srinagar: Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has accorded National Certification under LaQshya program to District Hospital, Udhampur in recognition of the high standards of quality and ensuring Respectful Maternity Care in the Labour Room and Maternity OT.
District Hospital, Udhampur was assessed by a team of highly qualified and empanelled assessors from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India in the month of May, 2022 and the hospital have been rated as Quality Certified under LaQshya program of National Health Mission as communicated by Union Additional Secretary & Mission Director, NHM, MoH&FWGoI, in a letter addressed to J&K Government. The National Certification will be valid for a period of three years subject to annual verification of the scores by the State Quality Assurance Committee.
Hospital shall receive an additional annual grant of Rs. 6.00 lakh as part of the LaQshya certification for next three years under National Health Mission, following which there will be re-inspection.
Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Manoj K. Dwivedi while congratulating the facility staff for this achievement, urged all Medical Colleges, District Hospitals and CHCs to work for implementation of LaQshya standards in Labour Rooms & Maternity OTs for improving care around birth so that Maternal &Newborn Health is further improved.
While congratulating, the District Hospital, Udhampur Mission Director, NHM J&K, Yasin M. Choudhary said that the certification accorded to the facility is in recognition of the “high standards of quality and performance maintained by the hospital” in the Labour Room and Maternity Operation Theatre. He urged that the other facilities across J&K, J&K should also match to the standards/Parameters set by MoHFW, so that in the coming days various health care facilities across J&K are also certified under LaQshya.
